Before espresso machines and specialty coffee, there was home.
Back in Puerto Rico, mornings started before the sun came up. By five in the morning, the spectacular aroma of freshly brewed coffee would find its way through the house.
A “greka”, the famous coffee brewed “con la media”, or the hot chocolate made “en la olla” for the little ones. Breakfast around the family table, and the simple rhythm of life in the mountains.
“Así comenzaban los días”. We didn't call it specialty coffee. We simply called it “cafecito”.
Because long before coffee became our craft, it was already part of our home.
FROM PASSION TO CRAFT.
In 2017, at just sixteen years old, our founder stepped behind the counter of a coffee shop for the first time. What began as a job soon became a passion.
At seventeen, he pursued professional barista certification at the Museo del Café in Ciales, Puerto Rico, beginning a journey shaped by curiosity, dedication, and a love for the craft.
From working in coffee shops and leading teams, visiting coffee farms, participating in Coffee industry events, and learning from talented coffee professionals, every experience brought a deeper appreciation for the journey behind every cup.
But one lesson stayed with him through it all.
The best part of coffee was always the people around it.

Growing up in Puerto Rico teaches you something special about coffee. Coffee is never just coffee.
It's the familiar sound of someone saying “¿Colamos un cafecito?”. It's the conversations that start in the kitchen and somehow last for hours. It's that feeling of being welcomed, even when you're miles away from home. Because back where we're from, sharing coffee has always meant sharing a little piece of yourself.
A “cafécito”, that conversation, a moment to remember. And somewhere along the way, our founder realized that what made coffee truly special wasn't just what was in the cup. It was what happened around it.
The laughter. The stories. The connections. The simple moments that stay with us.
Years later, that passion found an even greater purpose. Rooted in faith, inspired by family, and guided by the love and lessons God has placed in his heart, SIPI was born.
Not simply as a business. But as an expression of love. A way to honor the journey, build something meaningful for the next generation, and share the warmth of home with the people we meet along the way.
Today, SIPI brings together years of specialty coffee experience, genuine hospitality, and a little bit of that Puerto Rican heart. From our roots to your celebrations, every detail is crafted with intention. Because wherever life takes us, some things never change.
